Would you believe the FFRF is now a Lobbyist group?

This turn of events may have always been just a question of time. It was not just about the Freedom from Religion Foundation opposing theism of a certain sort while pushing their own preferred brand of secular humanism on the sly. As of now they will push Dem politics too.

Their hollow cry of Separation of Church and State meant nothing more than get your religion out of the public square.

First they turned the phrase on its head. It went from the need to protect religion from government overreach to having to protect government from religion’s overreach; or something to that effect!

Well come now; you can’t expect this NGO to say anything about government funded NGO’s luring religious groups into their huge spider’s web. I suspect that they would approve.

The FFRF are known to litigate not to uphold Freedom of Religion as per the constitution; but Freedom from Religion to oppose that other one that came with a written guarantee.

What’s strange is how one constitution came to mean very different things. They must be reading it through a lens of PM. Or it’s a case of ADD. How about it being a lack of reading comprehension skills?

FFRF took on cases they knew they would win the easy targets in other words; the cash- strapped schools that would cave in rather than take the fight to court.

What’s interesting is how they never picked on anyone with heft to give them a run for their money.

That said the Oklahoma State Department of Education challenged the FFRF in April this year over it’s you must cease and desist letters sent to one if its schools; though the case is still pending in court.

From where does the FFRF get its legal standing, as an NGO I mean, is the question? Where do they get their authority from?

Come to think of it they have never disclosed where their considerable funding comes from, it is still a mystery. Then we found out that they had ties to big humanist orgs in other countries.

FFRF is experiencing what its co-president calls a Trump bump; to mean that its national membership has increased whenever Trump enters the equation. As at the end of March this year there was a total of 42 450 members.

This seems on track with what other so-called free thought orgs have experienced as well. Or so we told.

In addition to its work in the legal field, the non- profit recently registered as a political lobby group; under the wing of a 501 C 4.

And so they are off the starting block to field candidates for as early as next year’s mid-term elections.

Oklahoma state rep Mickey Dollens is at the top of the list.

On top of which he joined FFRF’s staff as its first regional government affairs manager; so a twofer it is.
