Time Magazine Flaunts anti-Trump Plot

You have to wonder about the sheer nerve of Time Magazine in its article on the grand plan by the left to foil Trump every step of the way in the 2020 Elections; first, they admit to a conspiracy then they as much as imply they had to commit fraud to prevent fraud — WHAT???

At least that’s their excuse and they are sticking with it.

Posted last week this confession piece flew under the radar with the title; The Secret History of the Shadow Campaign That Saved the Election.

The purpose of their plan apparently; was to demonstrate to Americans how close they came to losing their democracy had a cabal not stepped forward and stopped Trump’s efforts to subvert the election.

In other words they got in first in the subversion stakes which is what they do.

The Time article upset one outlet who complained; Time’s ‘election conspiracy’ plays into the hands of the far right with its unfortunate choice of words.

They go on to complain that trying to protect an election is not the same as subverting it, your side started it bud and word-play doesn’t cut the mustard either.

It concludes; irrespective of its intentions, and the actual thrust of the story, Time magazine may have reignited the stolen election fire.

Well, they are certainly right about that.

Within days after the election, we witnessed an orchestrated effort to anoint the winner, even while many key states were still being counted said Donald Trump; and Time journalist Molly Ball agreed with him- in a way.

Ball credits the alliance for curtailing left-wing protests over Trump’s refusal to concede a Biden victory; bizarre given the fact votes for some states weren’t even in and allegations of voter fraud at polling stations were a feature of the elections at that point.

Yet her take is; Trump was the one who tried to overturn the election results.

Ball agreed with Trump’s statement because she knew he was right; thus she admits her part in just one more smear job by the left.

The Plot

Ball then dives into the conspiracy; an informal alliance of left wing activists and business titans saw labor and capital join forces to oppose Trump’s assault on democracy.

The pact was formalized in a terse, little-noticed joint statement of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and AFL-CIO published on Election Day.

This handshake between business and labor was just one component of a vast, cross-partisan campaign to protect the election.

She says; it was an extraordinary shadow effort not to win the vote but to ensure it would be free and fair.

Try to not choke on that early morning coffee while you digest these info-nuggets, because I’m warning you there’s more to follow.

For more than a year, a loosely organized coalition of operatives scrambled to shore up America’s institutions as they came under attack by an autocratic president.

Bear in mind when the left speaks of a loose-coalition it’s anything but, they are known for their ability to mobilize the troops where ever they may be when the situation calls for it; in fact they are masters at it.

The initiative was spearheaded by the left (naturally) but was separate from the Biden campaign and crossed ideological lines, with crucial contributions by nonpartisan and conservative actors.

Their work touched every aspect of the election; they got states to change voting systems and laws and helped secure hundreds of millions in public and private funding.

They fended off voter-suppression lawsuits, recruited armies of poll workers and got millions of people to vote by mail for the first time.

Voter suppression is; control in the form of checks and balances to curb fraud with the left looking to weaken these laws, just so you know.

The Mastermind

The brain behind the Shadow campaign was Democrat Mike Podhorzer, senior advisor to the president of AFL-CIO the largest labor union federation in the country.

He united with a group of liberal strategists in the early 2000’s which led to the creation of the Analyst Institute, a secretive firm that applies scientific methods to political campaigns. He was also involved in the founding of Catalist, the flagship progressive data company.

His is a political trends guy who studied the Trump phenomenon of 2016 when millions of white, blue-collar workers voted for him in droves; these were the voices that used to dominate the labor union federation at one stage.

On March 3, Podhorzer drafted a three-page confidential memo titled “Threats to the 2020 Election” in which he said Trump would never concede an election result that didn’t favor him.

It was Trump’s opposition to in-mail voting and his warning of its propensity for fraud that infuriated Dems; that he was right was another.

The Players

To set things in motion Mike Podhorzer recruited The Fight Back Table, a coalition of resistance organizations then established the broad front known as the Democracy Defense Coalition.

The labor movement, Planned Parenthood and Greenpeace were part of the mix as were the groups; Indivisible, MoveOn and non-profit advocacy Protect Democracy and many other state level grassroots organizations; with the leaders of BLM and Antifa playing key roles.

Protecting the election was serious business that required a Herculean effort so Congress, Silicon Valley and the nation’s statehouses were roped in.

Finally the alliance reached across the aisle to include those individuals and groups in the never Trump stable.

The Big Money

In March, activists appealed to Congress to steer COVID relief funds to election funding and secured $400 million in grants to state election administrators.

Private philanthropists stepped up to the plate with an assortment of foundations contributing tens of millions in funding.

The Chan Zuckerberg Initiative contributed $300 million alone.

The Censorship

Laura Quinn, a veteran progressive operative and co-founder of company Catalist along with Mike Podhorzer, remembers the union mastermind in this tale; it’s all wheels within wheels, was the one who pressurized big social media companies to censor ‘misinformation’ and conspiracy theories.

In November 2019, Mark Zuckerberg met with nine civil rights leaders who warned him about the danger of the election-related falsehoods that were already spreading unchecked. “It took pushing, urging, conversations, brainstorming, all of that to get to a place where we ended up with more rigorous rules and enforcement,” says Vanita Gupta, president and CEO of the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, who also met with Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey and others.

The Supreme Court is yet to hear cases of voter fraud that were delayed till after the inauguration so we’ll have to see how this goes.

Will the left’s shenanigans in the 2020 elections be revealed bit by bit; this seems to be the way of things.
