SCOTUS Leak is a Political Ploy.

Legal Eagles, pro-abortion advocates and pro-life supporters have all joined in the fray with their take of the SCOTUS Leak.

Legal experts have denounced the leak of the Court’s draft decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization; in which the justices voted to overturn Roe v. Wade.

The leak was said to be unprecedented; and an act that brought the Supreme Court into disrepute. In addition the same principle could be applied to all other government institutions as well. Also it is unethical from a judicial standpoint. They read it as a lawless act. The draft opinion of the majority of justices was leaked to Politico; a leftist news and politics site.

It is important to remember that the vote is not final and is still subject to change. So someone on the inside jumped the gun but the question is why? Political reasons; no doubt.

Legal scholar Jonathan Turley has said that the leak was likely part of a push by liberals to protect abortion rights; through the Supreme Court; or through the legislature.

He says the idea is to put pressure on the Supreme Court, as well as push legislation in Congress at a federal level. All this before the mid-term elections too!

They will also renew their call for court packing he has said.

The Supreme Court is not expected to issue a decision in this case for at least another two months; says Politico.

When this news broke Twitter lit up like a Christmas tree.

First the names of the six judges who provisionally ruled against Roe Vs Wade were revealed. Not a good idea for obvious reasons.

The response from the pro-abortion side was predictable at first.

No concerns about the legal ethics of the case as far as they were concerned; rather it was all about the rights they think they entitled to. All of a sudden the Supreme Court was their enemy which is funny because they don’t seem to mind when they rule in their favor. Guess you could say hypocrites much?

Then came the hysterics; if Roe Vs Wade was overturned it would mean that government was mandating pregnancy. Well the passing of Roe Vs Wade was government mandating abortion; so? Full circle wouldn’t you say? Then there were calls for government to adopt a-hands- off approach and stay out of health care. Oh the irony!

Their crocodile tears did not fool though.

Meanwhile pro-lifers were gleefully expecting a win for their side.

The opinion was if the ruling by the judges’ passed; each state would still be able to formulate their own abortion laws. So it was a win-win situation, where women could still get an abortion in an abortion friendly state if they so choose. Better yet, they could even move there permanently.

This picture might prompt conservatives in more liberal areas to move to red states and vice versa.

Then there was talk of the balkanization (see above) of the US i.e. you go your way and we will go ours. The idea got plenty of thumbs up. Which boils down to Blue States becoming Bluer and the Red ones redder; with a stricter divide between them.

Posters thought every attempt had to be made to find the leaker, so they could be charged and dismissed.

There have been reports of protests outside the Supreme Court by both the pro-abortion and pro-life sides; and things got a little tense.

The situation outside the Supreme Court is not looking good now; people are being warned to stay away.

Okay things are getting hot. There have been calls for violence by Democrats and activist groups alike. Burn it all down is what they are now saying.

Take care out there.
