Pay Attention; the Double Standard is the Point.

It does no good to shout about there being a double standard when we know this to be the case; it is not in dispute.

What you have to understand though is the double standard IS the point. It has a purpose which is to punish the naughty groups for all the wrongs they have committed in the past whether it is imagined or real.

Think of it as the warp and woof of the whole shebang because it really is.

Ever wonder why some groups get to stand by their outrageous statements. While on the other hand members of other groups get censored just for pointing out inconvenient facts.

Indeed how else would you square a take like this one?

In a 2021 lecture at Yale University titled The Psychopathic Problem of the White Mind, psychiatrist Aruna Khilanani described her “fantasies” of unloading a revolver into the head of any white person that got in my way, burying their body and wiping my bloody hands as I walked away relatively guiltless with a bounce in my step, like I did the world a favour

Note how she starts with the premise that white people are psychopathic? This allows her to assign to all types of suspect motives to them. Last of all it lets her indulge her violent revenge fantasies; and then to unleash her own inner psychopath. See how this works?

Around the same time a scholarly article in a peer reviewed academic journal described “whiteness” as “a malignant, parasitic-like condition to which ‘white’ people are particular susceptible the author, Donald Moss, presented his paper as a continuing education course for licensed therapists who would presumably treat patients with this condition- the paper advises: “There is not yet a permanent cure”

So it is a role reversal thing, of which philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche warned; He who fights too long against dragons becomes a dragon himself.

Then there is the idea language is a form of social control as well as a source of oppression so limiting it for certain groups is okay.

This harks back to Stanley Fish and his articles published in the New York Times titled “Two Cheers for Double Standards” and “The Harm in Free Speech.”

In this scenario some groups are marked to be disempowered while others have to be empowered. We make a mistake when we assume speech to be free when instead it is a terrain for hegemonic struggle; so says one academic.

Clearly there are different strokes for different folks and it is all okay. But what it boils down to is power, lust and war dressed up in equity blah.

The reasoning goes like this; if you want to fight discrimination the only way to do it is to discriminate; against the other side. It’s a levelling as it were.

This type of philosophy has been brewing for decades but on the quiet; now it is all out in the open.

Recent Examples of the Double Standard

Last week an academic wished the dying Queen of England an excruciating death and it all had to do with the issue of colonialism.

Her tweet created a firestorm; which led her university to distance themselves from the whole thing.

Since then staff and students have signed a petition saying they stand in solidarity with her; as they implore the university to hold off on further sanction.

The first chuckle of the day was when they pointed to the First Amendment that guarantees her right to freedom of speech.

Yes the one they scoff at when opponents point to it as a guarantee of their same right. Can you say double standard?

The condemnation of her tweet provides no institutional protection from violence they say; a weird way to explain how it works as in violence for thee but not for me.

Then they talk about tone-policing being paired with legitimate grievances which is not on. What they insinuate is any grievance seen as illegitimate has a right to be policed for its tone, so there!

They end off by saying; a university with unceded First Nations land and only nine Black tenured professors out of 477 cannot possibly share the same values as an African-Caribbean Black woman who is also an intersectional feminist, can it

Did a bunch of 14 year old’s compile the above paragraph? Come on!

Then there is this story at the Daily Mail. Ex England footballer Trevor Sinclair has sparked outrage by saying black and brown people should not mourn the Queen because racism has been allowed to thrive since the 1960’s. Now there is a tall story.

Closer to home Democratic candidate for the Senate Krystle Matthews has caused a stir for saying I keep them (white people) under my thumbs; otherwise they get outta control like kids.

She is on record saying that black people need to treat white people like shit.

She said in a video clip; I’m no stranger to white people, I’m from a mostly white town. And let me tell you one thing: You oughta know who you’re dealing with, like … you gotta treat them like shit, I mean … that’s the only way they’ll respect you.

The flip side is what if a white candidate said this about black people. They would never work again. They would be cancelled faster than a Richard Belzer sitcom.

Where is all this leading?

If it needs to be said we are in terrifying and dark times. People are more than happy to justify things that simply cannot be justified; may I add on any level.

Is this the perfect storm as far as the US is concerned? Woke ideology does not mesh well with immigration slash migration; at least as far as (white) American Nationals are concerned. Look to France as proof. They were the first to kick out this ideology when nationals were being challenged in their own back yard.

It brings to mind the vision of George Washington. In it he was forewarned of three threats to the Republic.

The first was the revolutionary war, the second the civil war with the last the greatest threat of all.

He was told (and shown) that people would come from all over the world in huge numbers to the US. This could only be seen in terms of migration and immigration; nothing else.

In the vision George Washington was given the promise of divine protection for his country; against all three threats. This was on condition the US stay united as a nation, and in the spirit of the Republic.

Which brings us to the here and now? With the terms of the condition infringed; it is clear the whole contract is off.

So what now?
