No, No it is not like That.
Meet Ms Rachel she is on Tik Tok and YouTube. She tells her audience what she thinks is proof of her being a good person. But then she brings Jesus into it. So why does she do this? Has she come out? No that is not quite it; but wait and you’ll see.
Rachel seems Jewish now this may or may not be important. Well except for the fact the Ten Commandments are a Jewish and not a Christian teaching. She quotes Jesus words where he says the Ten Commandments rest on two things. Then she hones in on the second part. You know; that love your neighbour bit.
She claims to love every neighbour but we don’t know what this means to her. To be honest here; she has the normal zeitgeist way of looking at things.
If I put money down every time someone exhorts to love your neighbour I’d make a mint.
Of course she can’t love every neighbour so why does she say that she does. It is only then you realize love means different things to all sorts of people; and that we are not on the same page.
Here is the thing; first you have to do good by your neighbour next door or the one close by to fulfil what is taught. Then you have to define good.
While The Good Samaritan works well in practise; it is not some abstract thing. It is just as it says. I point to the verse that says do not detract from what is written. In modern terms it means do not convolute the issue. So don’t cloud it with wordplay. Inexplicable yet strong feelings for those on the far side of the globe, or for those who stand on any hot button issue don’t compare. Nor do they count. Conversations about who is your neighbour mean nothing; they just shift the emphasis to a specific and different type of neighbour. No one has the liberty to redefine neighbour either. Or to link it to the values of the culture as well as the politics of the day? That is no so grand!
For some strange reason she does not see it this way. Thus she misses the point of what is being taught; and by a mile.
Ms Rachel insists Jesus did not imply that love your neighbour comes with exceptions. Well she is wrong again. He already defined the exception in his parable of the Good Samaritan. So we don’t have to. See He saved us the trouble and this is the gist of it. We have no need to add to it.
Right now it is Ms Rachel’s interpretation of the scriptures that is causing concern. As it is a snapshot of the culture in which we live you can guess where this leads.
She posted her comments on June 1; and then went on to wish her followers a happy pride month.
“I’m so glad you’re here. I’m so glad you’re exactly who you are.”
Oh I forgot to mention that she is a teacher of pre-school kids; and has stacks of followers.
She knows what she is doing. She is someone who aims for clickbait; while trying to profit from and just maybe to influence; all at the same time.
In a nutshell she doffs her cap to the culture now; whereas she did not before.
And here lies the crunch.
This is her coming out.
