Militias Rising

Concerns about the anti- gun package proposed by Virginia’s Democratic Party Governor, with some calling it a straight-up confiscation, is just one example of what’s driving the rise of Militias.

A news site specializing in law enforcement issues, now reporting on the growth of militias recently received an anonymous message by someone identifying as ’part of congress’ who warned if reports led to violence, editors can be charged with felonies.

Red flag laws are not only splitting the divide into left vs right but those in law enforcement vs those who traditionally supported them but now see the department as an overreaching arm of government.

The latter group comprises of cops and veterans, both active and retired; they joined by mothers, retirees, people of all races and all walks of life, a veritable melting pot of society you might say.

One female combatant said; “I’m the last person you’d expect to see in a group like this, a black millennial woman catches people off guard.

However, serving as a Marine in Iraq, I saw what happens to a nation when it descends into anarchy. We can’t allow that to happen here.”

The website claims they were victims of massive cyber-attacks two hours after publishing their first article about militias so it’s a hot topic, but they say they receiving information about militia numbers exploding in diverse areas like Washington, Oregon, Arizona, New Mexico and California.

At the same time, lawmakers are sitting up and taking notice, looking of ways to end this trend and they are starting to receive media backing.

Why Militias?

Last week, the left leaning website Slate released an article called “How to neutralize a militia”, where they argued nearly every state “has the legal tools to crack down on paramilitaries” and asking, “Why don’t they use them?”

The article starts-off trying to pass off the militias as nothing but a bunch of crazy people: Not so long ago, it was possible to laugh off the American militia movement as a bunch of old white guys and gun nuts playing army in the woods or freaking out about black helicopters.

After the past five years, no one is laughing: from the Bunker Ville standoff to Unite the Right, armed right wing extremists have organized”…….

As the state of Virginia, formerly a strong Republican base now undergoes drastic changes in political affiliations due to a sway in demographics and political beliefs the likelihood of more democrats taking office and pushing their policies is a thing.

Virginia has become two states within one; the northern part is hard left and the central and southern parts predominately conservative, definitely making it a battleground.

With incoming Democrats in conservative areas, seeking to use a law passed in 1987 to shut down militias, with that law stating: A person is guilty of unlawful paramilitary activity, punishable as a Class 5 felony.

After the news website reported on how Tazewell County, Virginia crafted a militia to defend the Constitution they were inundated with emails within hours from police officers, veterans, and patriotic Americans — who said they are joining.

This is the deal; lawmakers in Virginia were threatening to use the National Guard if members of local law enforcement refused to enforce laws passed in the state that they felt violated the second amendment.

It appears this was the spark and citizens in Tazewell County aren’t going down without a fight.

On top of calling themselves a second amendment sanctuary county, Tazewell is also crafting a militia, they have taken the movement that has swept across the state and added an element that is sure to trigger pro- gun-grabbing politicians in the state.

A majority of citizens passed both resolutions with attorneys checking the finer details, especially with regard to withdrawal of funding for law enforcement agencies that won’t comply with the demand not to violate the second amendment, as well as possible state prosecution of ‘rebel’ citizens.

To be sure, there is concern how lawmakers might respond and what form these reprisals might take.

The Governor of Virginia has since denied wanting to send in the National Guard nevertheless, an article in the Washington Examiner hints he might have been toying with the idea.

The Washington Examiner quoted Democrat Congressman Donald McEachin saying, “I’m not the governor, but the governor may have to nationalize the National Guard to enforce the law.

That is his call, because I don’t know how serious these counties are and how severe the violations of law will be. But that’s obviously an option he has.”

Natural News had this to say; talk of militias has set the radical left into a total panic, and they’re desperately trying to pressure liberal lawmakers to find some way to declare militias illegal.

Democrat-run Virginia is attempting to pass a new law, SB64 that would achieve their goal, criminalizing all self-defense training activities overnight, even ensnaring martial arts instructors and concealed carry firearms instructors as felons.

Nat. News says it’s somewhat ironic the left started sanctuary cities to fight illegal immigration laws they don’t like but are now screaming bloody murder that Conservatives are doing the same to secure their constitutional rights.

It’s appropriate to leave the last word to a militia group.

As Lone Star Watchmen, a Texas militia group describes itself:

First and foremost, we are your average American citizens; we have pride and express it. We are doctors, lawyers, your firemen, and EMT in your local community. We are your citizen soldiers who always ready to serve.

We are dads and moms, we are American Citizens. We come together as a group united by our moral beliefs, and our loyalty to our Constitution and Texas. We live by and support what the Constitution of the United States and the Bill of Rights decrees.

Lone Star Watchmen even specifically spells out what they are not:

We are not revolutionaries. We are not a hate group. We are not Anti-government.

We are, however, in favor of promoting education and resources for the protection against Tyranny and the corruption of Government officials, bad and unconstitutional legislation and/or policies.
