Medicine Gives the Right of Way to the Woke. Part 1

Medical schools are essentially one of the last conventional bastions standing when it comes to universities, yet they too have now fallen prey to the woke.

What’s happening at these schools is flabbergasting; students are policing professors calling them out for using traditional gender terms and biological facts.

As one doctor put it; wokeness feels like an existential threat.

Professors fearful of being smeared as transphobic are kowtowing to the woke trend.

A lot of people wonder how this radical ideology has gone from the obscure academic fringe to the mainstream in a short period of time.

It’s true it hasn’t taken over completely but it has taken root at leading American medical schools.

And the burning questions is; where to from here.

Just recently at the University of California, a medical professor was taped profusely apologizing for something he said at the start of class.

He ended his hand wringing with; ‘the worst thing I can do as a human being is be offensive’.

And his offense was? Using the term pregnant women!

As it turns out he regretted implying only women can get pregnant.

The insinuation here was that those who present as transwomen were born men and that transmen were born women; an undeniable fact by the way.

But can’t be confusing things where one size is supposed to fit all.

The reason; acknowledging biological sex can be considered to be transphobic.

Like one retired surgeon claims; the practice of medicine is based on the reality of biological sex.

One medical schools hosts an online forum where students can correct their instructors for using terms like male and female and breastfeed rather than chest feed.

Then there are the petitions.

From the beginning of the year students circulated a number of petitions to name and shame their instructors for wrong speak.

Cisnormative terms like she and her, and father and son were flagged leading one lecturer to apologize for using such binary language.

Another was about ‘a man changing into a woman; a real whoopsie in Trans speak.

A former dean of a medical school has said; these goings on are a serious departure from the expectation that medical education and practice should be based on science.

If it needs to be said medicine must be free from ideology and intimidation.

The American Psychological Association, what have they got to do with it, is considering using the term assigned sex at birth rather than birth sex.

I for one and no doubt many others didn’t even know the term birth sex is a thing, or that there is a distinction, which just goes to show.

The National Institute of Health, the CDC and Harvard Medical School are all making the effort to divorce sex and medicine; and re-marry it to gender identity.

Its clear ideology and activism are now impacting the sciences; like it did with engineering and math just a short while ago.

But this is the result when skepticism turns against reason and kills it in entirety and it’s been a long time coming.
