Making sense of the mind of the Conspiracy Denier.

We hear a lot about science deniers, climate change deniers and so on and so forth; but never conspiracy deniers. What do you think is the reason for this?

Or dare I say it; this is a conspiracy.

You see, nobody thinks to look at this side of this; but we need to as the conspiracy denier mindset comes with its own fixed ideas and foibles.

It is all down to how one views human nature and the world. So which one are you; a sceptic aka conspiracy theorist, or a naïve Ned or Nancy?

It is not as if deniers have this idealistic view of the human race either. They are more than happy to believe the worst of their enemies and throw plenty of shade their way. So this is not it.

Or they project the worst of their own natures; so they know that not to be the case.

They can be said to be in denial of the way the world works, yes.

But this is wilful denial as opposed to the other kind. It is more than not knowing; it is they do not want to know.

Prior to the sixties, history was chock full of conspiracies; it was a given that such things existed. It was a fact of life. Then the blinkers came on.

We learn from the past for goodness sake, and it serves as our cue for the future. The last empire of human history ends on a conspiracy. Revised history is the problem. That and too many like it this way.

We could be cynical and say the deniers are on the same side as the conspirators; would this be mean? Or just honest.

While ignorance may account for a lot of it there is no doubt too many love their lies.

When you get down to it; not all conspiracy theories are equal; and the same can be said for all conspiracy denials.

Deniers live in the world they want it to be, while conspiracy theorists live in one that just is; warts and all.

Let’s look at just one example of the deniers’ denial of reality.

There is the idea if conspiracies exist, no one would be able to hide it, or keep it secret. Everyone blabs eventually, they can’t help themselves. They think the world works the same way it did back when they were in kindergarten; where those in the know pass the message along just like in a game of broken telephone.

Well sorry kids, but this is not the way it works.

Information is provided on a need to know basis only; what you don’t need to know be sure you won’t. And so you will never see things in context, or get to know the bigger picture.

But there is another mistaken premise they bet on that skews their perspective, or protects their lies; just take you pick which it is. And it is this; the structure of our society is flat in nature, not hierarchical.

Which is complete tosh of course?

Very few sit on the top rung of the ladder. This is the real picture and shows why so much is a secret.

To get a better appreciation of how this looks; consider the organigrams of most big companies. Yes, this should do it.

Ask yourself this; is everyone privy to the same information? . Are meetings accessible to all? Strategizing happens behind closed doors at the top tier. Yes or no.

There are real world consequences when we don’t know what is hidden. Like when the Protestants learned of the Jesuit conspiracy to overturn the Reformation for one. See it does matter.

But truth is a hard thing to hear let alone have to find out.
