We Being Gas Lighted.

People complain all the time that they gas lighted by individuals or some group or other while guilty of doing the same thing.

So what is gas lighting and how does it work?

Well the clues in the above extract from Carroll’s book; it’s getting someone to believe something about themselves that’s not necessarily true.

Or to define it in other terms; it’s trying to change another’s view of reality.

But like so much else gas lighting has been interpreted to mean something different; like expressing opinions and worldviews deemed to be triggering.

It’s almost funny how people who want to take control everything are so objectionable most of the time; but it’s the nature of the beast I guess.

Fact is we live in a world where disinformation and outright lying has led to this sad state of affairs, possibly for the first time ever; we see the majority of people in the western world starting to question their own sanity, as well as the level of insanity that surrounds them.

Now that’s the proper definition of gas lighting.

There’s certainly no hope for a new golden age, it’s all downhill from here, sorry to have to burst your bubble.

The increasing frenzied distrust in everything “authoritative” mixed with the desperate incredulity that “everybody couldn’t possibly be in on it!” is bringing out the strait jackets with your name on it.

There’s no happy medium; the center has caved in.

Question everything is the new motto, but we’ve seen what happened when skepticism’s guns were aimed at reason; it didn’t survive.

So what did you bloody well expect?

Question everything is not prudent when you don’t have an inkling of where to start looking for answers; or even the right questions to ask.

The Battle for your Mind.

Society is determined to change your mind.

Oh, they try to put a spin on it but they tyrants, who want you to think exactly as they do; about everything.

They want to dictate the conversations, the language and the answers but we know this is not the way things work.

In short, these buffoons want to be able to shape a new reality; and so they gaslight us constantly.

If there’s another word for what ails them it is deceived; they have been blindsided only don’t know it; just yet.

St Paul probably had it right; have nothing to do with such people; don’t even give them the time of day.

The problem is that education hasn’t made everyone servile like they thought it would; so re-education is their answer.

But we finally free to read whatever we wish and reason our way round.

AND THEY CAN’T ABIDE THIS.

But it is the ordinary person, someone who accepts society’s social standards and behavioral patterns; that is most susceptible to indoctrination.

They are not known as the Kool-Aid kids for nothing.

What’s more, it is our deeply programmed “survival instinct” that’s the fault, and the key to the suggestibility of our minds.

Trying times or times of crisis are when people are at their most malleable; so there’s that.

Hecker studied the dancing mania phenomenon that occurred during the Black Death, and observed; heightened suggestibility had the capability to cause a person to “embrace with equal force, reason and folly, good and evil, diminish the praise of virtue as well as the criminality of vice.”

Resisting the Deconstruction of the mind

‘Those whom the gods would destroy they first drive mad’.

Look around you and ponder on it.

Deconstruction is only dangerous when we give it power over us; if we allow ourselves to sleep walk into the nightmare they construct for us.

“When I use a word,” Humpty Dumpty said in rather a scornful tone,

Need I add that the Mad Hatters don’t win; reason’s against them.

Even a child knows this.

You will outsmart and survive them.

Just keep you head when everyone else is losing theirs.
