Christian publishing’s Not So Subtle War on Men.

It is hard to miss that the Christian publishing industry and the blogosphere both, are at war with men.

Dr. Paul Maxwell says this war is part of a firmly held not-so-secret agenda.

As a former writer and acquisitions editor at Moody Publishers; Maxwell sheds a good deal of light on the inner workings of the publishing world.

There is an important guiding principle at work in publishing and marketing and it is this; men do not buy books, women do. Which means even books geared towards men are bought by women; for men? So this makes sense when you think about it.

Maxwell says this bias plays into editing roles which tend to go to either women or effeminate men. And the reason; they speak the lingo that appeals to a predominantly left-leaning female audience.

Based on industry metrics, Maxwell claims the target audience of most of these publishing houses and blogs is 80 to 90 percent female.

To borrow Maxwell’s phrase; mainstream evangelical culture is a beta male one.

One commentator reckons such an attitude mirrors that of the Churches; clearly unable to speak the language of men they prefer women and the androgynous.

Then there was that time Tim Keller held an effeminate ballet concert by three boys at his church in Manhattan several years ago.

Maxwell offers a solution; he suggests platforms like Christianity Today hire masculine men to curate content on their site.

While someone else opined that this was just a delusional fantasy on his part; as so many men are now feminized.

Many say this abandonment of men is no accident; or if it was at the beginning, it no longer is.

Maxwell mentions the ‘intellectual dark web’ might provide some hope. He suggests getting men on board like Jocko Willink, Jordan Petersen and Ben Shapiro. And even Joe Rogan.

The point was made these type men do not worry about what the cultural elites have decided is taboo.

The Evangelical Intelligentsia is seen as a big part of the problem in some circles.
